Line Winder BF-216
Now it’s possible to expertly spool your own reels at home and this line winder is a must for all serious anglers who spool their reels tight. At the heart of the BF-216 is a CNC machined gearbox with brass gears that provide the required torque to make it possible to use a standard 18v cordless drill.
The BF-216 Line Winder can spool overhead game reels to size 80W, fly reels, spinning reels from size 1000 to 30000 and also most baitcasting reels. (Some small baitcasting reels with a big gearbox may require a spacer under the reel foot to lift them up).
Changing over from overhead reels is very quick and the CNC machined chuck has replaceable rubber pads. Together with the rubber cone, it makes spooling spin reel spools a breeze. It’s a perfect addition to the Bee’s Knees Reel Spooler which you can also find at Busted Fishing. This unit is made from primarily anodized aluminium and stainless steel, weighing in at a whopping 5.3kg

AUBF-216 Line Winder
Great piece of Aussie engineering and built super well, handles LH overheads too which is awesome considering l have 2 Avet Raptors in LH wind.

From order to use the whole process was simple. Easy to order, fast delivery to NZ, easy to set up and even easier to use. Did a great job and we had 3 new overheads and 1 spin reel spooled in no time at all. Using the bees' knees spooler also allowed for correct tension when spooling. Level head winder with accurate measuring and ability to evenly pack line while not putting any wear on the line under tension, was brilliant. We even used the ripper stripper to take line of another 2 reels to load on top shots and being able to measure made it so simple!
USBF-216 and Reel Spooler
I bought BF-216 directly from Busted Fishing. Fast shipment, but the box got damaged due to heavy items inside. I used it to spool my Penn Fathom 30 with 65lb braids and Makaira 20IISEA with 100 lb braids for my San Diego fishing tuna trip. I also bought the Reel Spooler from Tackle Direct and its Base Plate from Amazon to pair with my BF-216. Overall the products were very solid, well designed, and they worked very well. The good parts, I can spool my reels with the braids and colors that I want. My Makaira 20 was spool with almost 20lb of tension on line. I used lower speed settings of the reel to wind it manually. I had already setup a drill with foot pedals, but didn’t have a chance to use it yet; maybe on a smaller reel doesn’t need a lot of tension on the line. Also, didn’t have a chance to spool any of my spinning reel. Will update later. Maybe, I will get line leveller with counter and reel stripper too. Those items will help a lot when spooling big reels for tuna fishing.
USI now have my own professional tackle store at home.
All I had to do was watch the live videos you have posted on YouTube and the BF-216 was very simple to install and use. I have also purchased the base plate for my Bee's Knee's reel spooler and the Line Leveler. Together this is one professional looking and performing all in one line machine. Now my braid and monofilament line goes on tight like it should have. I love my Busted Fishing line winding system.
