This is a very difficult question to answer and we get asked a lot. Please check out our blog post for help

Question: Can the BF-216 Line Winder spool left and right hand reels?
Answer: Yes it can. The gear box in the BF-216 Line Winder can spin both ways. However, you must be careful not to turn it against the rotation of your reel handle as the reel can only spin one way and something may break. There are detailed instructions in the box.

Question: Can the BF-216 spool overhead reels, baitcasting reels, conventional reels, spinning reels and fly reels?
Answer: Yes it can. The only limitation is that 130 size reels only just fit onto the line winder and some common sense must be used as not to spool with too much drag on those large reels as your drill may start to struggle. Also some small baitcaster reels may hit with the reel gearbox on the reel mount bracket. To overcome this problem, you may insert a spacer underneath your reel foot to lift up the reel.

Question: How do I disassemble the Reel Spooler for greasing?
Answer: The Bee’s Knees Reel Spooler has a lifetime warranty and has been spooling well over 3 million meters of line in some stores. The carbontex drag washer in the leg side is greased with Cal’s drag grease and wiped off, It will not require regreasing. The other side does not have a drag washer and is pressed and loctited so you can’t disassemble it.

Question: Why is my Bee’s Knees Reel Spooler is losing tension and making noises?
Answer: It is not your Reel Spooler that is losing tension but as the line comes off the plastic spools, the plastic spools somewhat “collapses”, which can cause a change in tension. On most spools this is minimal but on some spools it can require some re-adjustment. Also, this may cause the smaller plastic spools to slip on the cones and make some noise. We recommend to stop the spooling process a couple of times and check the line tension is ok.
