We are very excited about our new state of the art spooling machine, which we designed and built to custom spool Tasline Elite braid by the meter and ship within 24 hours.
It started with a cad design to produce an accurate model
The line runs over a series of 3 super smooth wheels, to which the limit sensor is attached for the digital counter.
The bulk spools are mounted on a Bee's Knees Spooler for adjustable drag pressure and the machine is programmable for the correct length. The speed and pitch is also variable with a speed controller and Uhing device.
The finished machine works great and allows us to turn around custom orders precisely and accurately within a short amount of time.
Here is a video of it in operation:
As a small business it's difficult to determine how to spend the limited amount of $'s on advertising but a great way to us seems sponsorships. Not only does it help other anglers out but it also is a great way to test your gear and get good feedback. When the feedback is like this one, we are absolutely stoked.
We have been sponsoring the Dixon brothers for the second year now and although it's limited what we can do, the boys have been great for us and Kerry and myself are very thankful.
We been looking forward to get a trip report from their latest trip up the West Coast. Here's a few pics of some cracking fish caught using Busted Fishing gear. They are just some of the fish they caught
The best Spanish of the trip was caught on a Goshie Custom Mack Bait lure in "King Of Chrome"
The boys took some Tasline Elite Braid from 12lb to 50lb with them and were very happy with it's performance. Some nice fish they caught on the 12lb Tasline with lures and soft plastics.
The boys also hooked some fish with the bigger Busted metals.
Hooking fish and staying connected is one thing and landing them another. Chris and Aron are kitted out with 2 Busted Gaffs and a large net to do the job. And they do the job well
Another new reel Chris took with him was a Avet LX Raptor and matched to his Assasin Beachmaster rod he calls this a harvesting machine. The twin drags of the Avet reels sure pack a punch
Thanks to Chris and Aron Dixon for the pics and feedback once again.
Tight lines ........... they sure were
Kerry and myself will be going to Europe for a couple of weeks and won't be able to ship our gaffs and Anyfish Anywhere rods between the 28.06.2016 and 28.07.2016 plus we will also close our Ebay store during this time.
So if you need a gaff or rod, please order well before the 28th and we will get it out to you next business day as always.
There will be someone here while we are away and all other items will be shipped as usual. Thanks for all the support.
Kerry and Frank
Up for grabs are 2 complete Reel Spooler - Stripper packages as in the below video:

A well known lure which has claimed plenty of pelagic predators from the Australian coastline is the Lively lures Mack Bait. Lively Lures is based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and this lure manufacturer has been producing quality lures to suit Australian waters for nearly three decades.
The Mack Baits are classified as a bibless minnow and were designed by Alan Dolan in the early nineties and they have been a perennial favourite amongst Aussie rock hoppers ever since. As a young keen rock fisherman who spent plenty of time fishing locations such as the Gold Coast Seaway in the 1980’s Alan wanted to create a multipurpose pelagic lure for targeting species such as Mackerel, Tuna and Trevally.
After a year of lure sculpting and field testing Alan finally came up with a design which not only mimics the local baitfish population but also swims with a deadly action. When you observe the shape of a Mack Bait it is relatively thin across the body but broad in profile. This allows the Mack Bait to flash through the water and imitates common baitfish such as Herring, Mullet and Yellowtail Scads.
When a Mack Bait is retrieved at high speed these lures vibrate through the water which makes them highly visible to predatory fish. To achieve this action Alan has designed the Mack Bait with a tight action which allows the lure to vibrate with the maximum number of beats per foot of travel. When casting these lures from the rocks anglers usually let them sink for approximately 5 seconds before cranking them in with a medium to high speed retrieve. When Mack Baits are retrieved at the correct speed these lures will stay in the water and will continue work until they are retrieved right to the base of the rocks or get inhaled by a fish.
The Mack Baits are currently available in three sizes 4 inch, 5 inch and 7 inch and we will start off with the most popular size, the 5 inch, which is the most common size used for casting and retrieving from the rocks. These bibles minnows contain an internal lead weight in the front section of the lure and 5 inch lure weighs approximately 75gms. The body of the Mack Bait is also made from Polyurethane which is not only excellent for rock abrasion but this material is also tough enough to withstand any puncture wounds created a big Spanish mackerel.
In recent years well known LBG angler Goshie has been working with Alan to create a series of Chrome Mack Baits that are designed for Australian ledges. Goshie started with the “king of chrome” Mack Bait which has gained a huge cult following and is fast becoming one of the most popular lures on the market. The “king of chrome” Mack Bait has claimed a wide variety of species such as Spanish mackerel, longtail tuna, cobia, giant trevally, golden trevally and many more.
The Mack Baits can also be used to target a wide range of pelagics from a boat. These lures can either be trolled at speeds up to 8 knots or they can be cast and retrieved from a stationary vessel. This makes the Mack Baits a truly versatile lure.
Joel Downard and the boys from the West Coast of Australia had a great few days fishing landbased off the cliffs. Joel sent me a pic of a 16kg Spanish he caught on a Busted 80 lure and the Tasline Elite he bought from us. Then he also put his new Busted gaff to good use on a freak capture of his mate Steve Ruggerio who managed to hook a Marlin on a Nils Master Invincible lure, his Stradic 5000 with 20lb line and a 8-10kg rod. The fish was landed and estimated at around 30kg.
A few days before Sokhom Chhouk sent me these great shots of the guys landing some fish with the Busted Fishing Ultimate gaff at the full 21ft length. Most gaffs struggle at that length but the wobble free joiners on the Ultimate make a difference when it counts
My latest blog is up now from a trip to Niue Island: please click here
The guys from Morningtide Fishing are extreme in their approach to landbased game fishing and Tasline ticks all the boxes for the guys. And as always, the results speak for themselves.
On the lookout for the best braid for their requirements, the guys asked us if we can send them a sample card of our Tasline Elite braid and so we did.
The guys aren't sponsored in any way so we were very happy when Morningtide made a special mention in their new "which line" video and it's refreshing to see guys are still having fun while talking about fishing tackle.
Currently we manufacture our Busted 45 and Busted 75 lures in batches from 400 to 1000 lures. See how they come to life from a solid bar of brass.
After the machining the lures get chrome plated and polished to the final product.
We are very happy with the completion of the new Tasline Elite website www.tasline-elite.com and
invite you to check it out. It's designed to give the most information possible to our customers who value this top end braid at an affordable price.
